ABOUT
Heatwole Golf Design was established in 2002 by American Society of Golf Course Architects member Dave Heatwole as an extension of his design experience after two and a half decades of designing courses for legendary golfer/designer Jack Nicklaus.
Dave now enjoys the opportunity to focus his design talents on the restoration and renovation of existing courses as well as to creating his own original designs. His vision is to keep the company small in order maintain a close working relationship with the golf course owner, the contractors and other project consultants. From the initial site assessment, through planning, design, and construction clients can be assured they will work with Dave during the entire process.
You can find Dave's domestic work in Pennsylvania, New York, Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, Massachusetts, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, Missouri, Hawaii, New Jersey, and Connecticut. His work internationally in England, Scotland, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Germany, India, and Indonesia.
Good course design will challenge golfers of various skill levels while creating an enjoyable and memorable playing experience that inspires the golfer to return time and again. The strategy of the course should challenge the mind and stimulate the senses while remaining sensitive to the natural environment and true to the traditions of the game.
